Early Childhood Supports

Family-centred early intervention for children under nine with developmental delay or disability, building skills through everyday routines and play.

Early Childhood Supports provide family-centred early intervention for children under nine with developmental delay or disability. The earlier support begins, the greater the difference it makes to a child's development and to family confidence.

Our approach builds skills through everyday routines and play — at home, at childcare, at preschool and in the community — rather than only in clinic rooms. Communication, movement, play, social skills and self-care are all developed in the settings where children actually live and learn.

Families are at the centre of everything we do. We coach parents, carers and educators with practical strategies they can use every day, and we work respectfully alongside each family's culture, language and community.

    How We Deliver This Service

We begin by getting to know the child and family, their routines and their goals. Support is delivered in natural environments and reviewed regularly, with close collaboration between therapists, educators and family so that everyone is working towards the same outcomes.
